I’m going to take this afternoon to get caught up on some very past due blog posts.  In an attempt to not fill up everyone’s inboxes, I’m going to lump all my pictures into a couple of categories.  These next few posts might be kind of long.

I’m going to start it off with my March and April Glam Bags.  I did a post about my February Glam bag but haven’t been able to post the March and April ones.  Incase you don’t know, MyGlamBag is a monthly subscription that sends a hot pink bubble wrap package full of goodies.  Each month, you get a new makeup bag that’s filled with samples and even some full size products.

Here is the March glam bag:

The theme for this glam bag was Spring time.  I have been so happy with this subscription so far.  I know a lot of people haven’t really liked Birchbox too much.  The glam bag is only $10 a month.  Anyway, the March glam bag came with a MyGlam makeup brush in a pink leather travel brush case, a full size pur-lisse lip treatment, a Keracolor treatment sample and a Dermstore gift card.  I LOVE the lip treatment.  It makes your lips feel completely silky and soft.  I also love this makeup brush.  It is great for blending.  I’ve already used the brush case when traveling for work.

Here is the April bag:

This has by far been my favorite of the three bags I’ve gotten.  The theme for this month was Girl’s Night Out.  The makeup bag is a gorgeous metallic pink.  It came with two more MyGlam brushes; an angled brush and a small flat brush.  The small flat brush is AWESOME.  It’s great for your tear duct hight light.  I haven’t tried the angled brush yet, but the small flat brush and the fluffy brush I got last time are awesome.  This bag also came with a sample size Urban Decay 24/7 pencil.  I’ve swatched that here.  The only thing I don’t like about this particular pencil is that it doesn’t show up too well on the water line.  It’s good for the lash line though.  I also got some false lashes and a Dermstore sample lip treatment.  The lip treatment is awesome.  It has a little shimmer to it and feels so awesome and silky.  The full size Urban Decay pencil is pretty pricey, so to get such a good size sample in this bag is awesome.  Totally worth the $10.

This is the only monthly makeup subscription I’ve tried, so I can’t speak for any others, but I can say that I am so glad I signed up for MyGlam.  It has been well worth the money so far.  I hope you enjoy this post!

My best friend gave me a coupon to try Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects nail stickers.  I absolutely LOVE them.  I (of course) got the pink zebra print ones that I showed you in my retail therapy haul.  The instructions were a little confusing, but once I figured it out, it was soooo easy.  I do have a few nails that don’t look too great because I was learning while going, but I think from now on, I’ll be able to put them on good.  You get 16 stickers that are all different sizes, a double ended cuticle stick and a mini nail file.  You take the stickers and before you take the protective clear strip off and the backing, you line the sticker up to your nail and pick the most accurate.  The you peel off the clear strip from the front and the backing.  Be careful when you do this because this will leave you with a pretty flimsy sticker.  Holding the sticker in the middle, line it up to your cuticle first.  Then you take the flat end of the cuticle stick and press the sticker on to your nail.  Make sure you fold it over the end of your nail to create a seal, then you just file away the excess.  Its super easy once you get the hang of it.  Folding it over the edge of the nail is key.  I messed up and didn’t do that with some of mine and the edges are rubbing down and chipping.  The ones I did right look great!  These are supposed to last up to 10 days (when you do them right).  My best friend suggested that they are great for nurses/doctors and people who have to wash their hands pretty often.  I’d also say that would include food service and child care.  If you have to wash your hands or apply hand sanitizer often, these would be great for you.  I have showered with them on and gone about my day like normal and they haven’t budged.  Also, if you don’t have a lot of time, having 10 days before you have to change your nail polish would be helpful.  I was a little bummed about the price.  At Wal-mart, they are around $8.60; pretty pricey.  You do get 16 stickers, but you only use 10 and then you’re left with ones that don’t fit.  I’m going to try to maybe cut them to fit my nail.  There is a good amount of waste with this product also.  Each sticker is twice the size it needs to be, so you’re throwing away the protective plastic, the paper backing and half the sticker.  I will most likely try these again, but probably not right away.  Here is a picture of my nails:

I do love the way they look minus the few spots where I didn’t get it to fit right.  Let me know if you’ve tried these and what you think!

I had a pretty stressful day today. I had an interview and didn’t get the job and I had some things going on personally. To top it off, my boo is stuck at work all night after I decided to skip church and stay home and relax. What makes girls feel better when they’re down?? Shopping! I had to pick up some prescriptions at Wal-Mart so I thought I’d cheer myself up in the makeup section. I thought I’d give the 24 Hour Color Tattoo by Maybelline another try so I picked up bold gold. When I swatched it on my hand, right away I liked it better than the purple one I tried. I’m excited to try it on my eyes. A brand called Love My Eyes was on sale so I got a white glitter eye liner pencil. It is pretty creamy and has a nice glitter pay off. Wet n wild has a jumbo pencil called Idol Eyes. They look really pretty so I got the green pencil called envy. It has a gorgeous shine. I wanted to try some lip color so I picked up a Maybelline super stay stain gloss. I can’t read the color on the bottom but it is a bold red. Bon Bons had a stackable shadow set on sale so I grabbed the one in Magic which is a nuetral palette. Lastly, my BFF gave me a coupon for the Sally Hansen salon effects nail polish stickers. I haven’t tried them yet but I’m super excited to. Of course I got the pink zebra print one called animal instinct. I’m pretty excited to try all of these products! So far the swatches look great. I’ll keep you posted on when I get to try them.

I had been toying with the idea of signing up for Birchbox for a long time so I started doing some research. From what other bloggers are saying, Birchbox has slacked off on the samples. While researching, I came across the MyGlam bag site. It was created and is endorsed by beauty bloggers such as Michelle Phan and Jessica Harlow. It is the same concept as Birchbox. For $10 a month, you get a pink shimmery envelope filled with a makeup bag of goodies. It should be no shock that my favorite color is pink, so when I came home today and saw the pink envelope on my coffee table, I was so excited! Each glam bag comes with several deluxe samples and possibly a full size product. They also give you cards that explain each thing. I didn’t sign up in time for January but they sent out a super cute makeup bag full of samples as well as a full size face mask. This month, the bag is hot pink with little black hearts and was filled with awesomeness. I got a pretty big sample of X Out Shine Control, a full size NYX Roll on Shimmer in pink (swatched below), Premier Dead Sea Cinderella mask samples, Freeman Facial Mask Sachets and a $100 gift certificate for NuMe hair tools. It also came with a bonus box of Ghirardelli chocolates. All in all, I’d say this is the best way I’ve spent $10 in a long time. I’m super happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. I will update each month when I get my bag but as of right now, I’m sold on MyGlam bag! Hope this post is helpful!

I finally got around to trying my Milani Runway Eyes palette. This look turned out a little darker than I like but I think it looks ok. I used my regular face stuff. I was able to use every color in this palette. The neutral color on the lids, the darker black and silver in the outer v and crease, the purple color in the crease, the white in the tear ducts and under the brow and the blue along the bottom lashline. I hope you like this look! Don’t forget to check out the Free Friday post!

My sister wins everything. Recently she won a collection of 6 Sparitual nail polishes. She is letting me “borrow” 3 of them for a blog post. Right off the bat, I loved the colors. It was super hard for me to pick which ones I wanted to try. The 3 I decided to try are Blue Moon Shimmer which is a gorgeous purple; Solstice Shimmer which is a bright, solid gold; and Illumination Glitter which is a thin glitter. This week I tried Solstice in honor of my sister. Just tonight, I added Illumination over Solstice and I love it. I would highly recommend this brand. The pictures below of my nails with Solstice is only with 2 coats, so you can see how well the color pay off is. I can’t wait to try Blue Moon in a couple days. I’ll post pics then! Thanks sissy!

For my first product review, I’m going to talk about something I’ve fallen in love with. My sister gave me the Olay Professional ProX for Christmas. I really wanted to try something like this, so I was so excited when I opened my present! This system is designed to give you a deep clean, open your skin up for super moisturizing and work on anti-aging. For normal to dry skin, it’s only recommended to be used two to three times a week. For oily skin, you can use it up to five times a week. I have super oily skin that breaks out a lot. I especially get break outs when Aunt Flow is visiting. Anyway, with this system, you simply remove all your makeup, wet your face, rub the exfoliant on your face, wet the brush and rub it around your face then rinse your face The machine does the work for you. I read on a blog that when you first start using it, you should use it every day for a week, then get on a rotation based on your skin type. I’m oily, so I will use it five times a week. I have used it every day for the past week and I love it. In the evenings, I just use my Nuetragena makeup remover wipes, then use the ProX system. It’s very important to moisturize when using the system. Moisturizer usually makes my face break out, so I use a very small amount after using the system. I also use my e.l.f. zit zapper after brushing to get rid of blemishes. I LOVE the way my face feels after I rinse it off. I can already see the difference in my skin. It has less blemishes and looks fresh and soft. It feels amazing. The only thing I’d like is if the bottle of exfoliant that comes with it was a little bigger. All in all, I would definitely recommend this system, especially to those with oily skin like me. The instructions say not to use it close to your eyes, but since the system has a slow speed and a high speed, I close my eyes and use the slow speed on my lids. It makes my eye lids so smooth and soft. I just really love this system. Big thanks to my sister for getting it for me! Let me know if you have tried this or a similar system and how you liked it. I hope you enjoy my review!
