So I posted a haul the other day with the NYX stuff I’ve gotten. I tried a smokey eye with some glitter and let me just say I was not happy with the result of the glitter. I barely even made it out of the house before the glitter was messed up in the crease. I didn’t even put glitter now the crease, just on the lids. I LOVE this collection but I’m going to have to find something else to make the glitter work and not clump up. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I know I’ve been promising some looks with my acid palette so here is one. Finally. With this look I used yellow on the inner half of the eye and orange in the outer half. To blend them in the center, I just alternated sides of my brush and blended them together. I used the grey in the outer V and blended it into the crease. Then I took the maroonish color and blended it into the crease. I used white in the inner corner as a highlight. Along the bottom lash-line, I used green. I used my Too Faced shadow insurance for primer and then my NYX jumbo pencil in milk as a base on the lid and along the bottom lash-line. I used my Almay foundation, Physician’s Formula blush, bronzer and highlighter. Maybelline falsies mascara and my Urban Decay 24/7 black pencil finished off the eyes. On my lips, I used my Stila lipgloss. The Acid palette is my absolute favorite palette. The pigmentation in the colors is awesome. What you see in the palette is what you get on your eyes. You have to order it from eBay if you want it because it’s not sold in the US but it is so worth it. I hope you enjoy!

Hello makeup lovers!  Have you missed me?!?  I’m so sorry I fell off the planet for a little while.  To update you on my personal life; my surgery went great!  I was home the same day and feel much better!  I have lost 7 pounds as a result.  I am also in the process of buying a home closer to where my family lives.  Big things are happening for me, but I have still been keeping up with taking pictures of my makeup looks and makeup I purchase.

I’m going to kick off my return to blogging with one of my FAVORITE recent purchases.  I have seen soooo many bloggers do Youtube videos using the Sleek Acid Palette and I had been DYING to try it’s intense colors.  This palette is not sold in the U.S.  If you want it, you have to get it from eBay.  You’ll have to pay twice as much for it, but let me tell you, it is worth it!  This is the most awesome palette I have bought in a while.  The pigmentation in the colors is insane.  You only need to pack the color on once or twice to get the brightness of the shades.  They blend awesome with each other and without a lot of effort.  I have a couple looks I’m going to post over the weekend using this palette that I think turned our pretty dang awesome.  I do have a warning, this palette is not for those of you who like to stick with neutral colors.  It is bright and intense.  If you like crazy colors like me, you’ll love this palette.  This palette is full of crazy colors including neons.  I have a few pictures of the palette itself and will post the looks I have soon.

Here is the packaging.  As you can see it is pretty “sleek”.  It fits right in the mix with my other palettes.

It was hard to get my iPhone to take an accurate picture of the colors.  This one is pretty close.

This picture is pretty washed out.  Doesn’t do the palette justice!  It came with one of those double ended sponge applicators but I always throw those away.

I would say this one and the first one would be the most accurate pictures.  On the top row you have a magenta, white, yellow, bright orange (looks like a dark yellow but it’s actually orange), dark blue and bright blue.  On the bottom row you have a bright purple, an olive-green, a BRIGHT pink, a bright teal, a silver/gray and a black.  If you’re interested in this palette, I would definitely check out eBay.  It is worth the money.  The only thing I used for the looks I will post that is not in this palette is a bronzeish color to blend in the crease.

I hope you all enjoyed this post!  Let me know in the comments section if you would like to see me start doing video tutorials for some of my looks.  It’s an idea I’m batting around.  It’s good to be back!

I simply do not have the time this week for Watch it Wednesday or Thrifty Thursday. Instead of that, I have a couple of hauls for you. The first I’ve been dying to share. I got the Naked and Naked 2 palettes! With that haul I got some NYX jumbo pencils, some glitter liners, Too Faced Shadow Insurance and a couple other things pictured and swatched. A few weeks ago, Hautelook had Urban Decay so I got a gel liner compact, a lash kit and the Book of Shadows. I can’t wait to try them out. The book came with primer, liquid liner, a mascara and a mini speaker with cables for iPhone and USB. That’s kind of awesome. Hope you enjoy. I will share who won Free Friday tomorrow so don’t forget to check it out! I’ll be out of town this weekend so I won’t have any posts up till next week. 🙂

I finally got around to trying my Milani Runway Eyes palette. This look turned out a little darker than I like but I think it looks ok. I used my regular face stuff. I was able to use every color in this palette. The neutral color on the lids, the darker black and silver in the outer v and crease, the purple color in the crease, the white in the tear ducts and under the brow and the blue along the bottom lashline. I hope you like this look! Don’t forget to check out the Free Friday post!

Ok ok. I know I promised a Free Friday, but I got so busy yesterday I didn’t have time to put it up. I promise I will do it tonight. In the meantime, I’m waiting to get a pedicure, so I figured I’d talk about something I just bought. I got 2 different Maybelline Color Tattoos. I got the teal one and the purple one. I was super excited to try these because the colors look awesome. I’ve seen a lot of other blog reviews about how great they are, but I must say, I don’t see what all the hype was about. The colors look great in the pots, but once I tried to apply the purple one, it was not too great. I tried with both my finger and a brush. It didn’t cover very well with just my finger. I had to use my brush and press it on and even then, I had to use several coats to get it opaque. I’m glad I got these on sale because I’d be really upset if I paid full price. I also had some sort of allergic reaction to them. My eyes were itchy and watery all night and I couldn’t wait to get home and take my makeup off. The product boasts 24 hour durability and while I only had mine on for a few hours, it didn’t bug or crease. It looked the same when I got home as it did when I left. If you want to try these, I’d look for them on sale. They’re not a horrible eye shadow, but they’re not as great as I had heard.

Here is a look I did last night. I used my Rimmel purple quad with the purple color tattoo on the lid. Hope you enjoy!

I absolutely LOVE my Kat Von D palette and mascara. So much that I’m sitting here at an arena race with my boyfriend and I couldn’t wait to post this look. I used my Almay foundation and my Urban Decay primer. All colors are from my Mi Vida Loca Kat Von D palette. I used the pink on my lids, purple in the crease, the soft purple along the brow, white at the tear duct and green along the lower lash line. I made the cat eye with my BH gel liner and I used that on my bottom water line. I finished off the eyes with 2 coats of Kat Von D mascara and 1 coat of Hard Candy glitter mascara. On my cheeks I used e.l.f. bronzer, NYX blush and Physician’s Formula highlighter. I hope you enjoy this look. Here is a pic of the mini arena race cars! Enjoy!
