Ok I haven’t posted since last week and I know the last thing I posted was nails, but I broke a nail so I had to cut them all and redo them. I have a ton of weekend looks from last weekend and this weekend that I will hopefully get to post tomorrow. In the meantime, heres my nails.
I started with a pinkish purplish pearl color by Funky Fingers. I did 2 coats. I saw on a YouTube video that you can make an easy zebra print just by alternating Y shapes so i tried it out. I think it came out looking pretty good. I finished it up with a clear top coat. I hope you enjoy!
Well I had an awful experience with gel nails. I went to a salon and got them done. About 2 days later they started peeling off. Gel is supposed to last 2 weeks or more. When I went back to the salon, they wouldn’t give me my money back so I just had them redone. Guess what happened? The same thing. 2 days later they started peeling off. So I just gave up and peeled them all off and did them myself. So much happier with this outcome. Haha!
I used a black striper to create a guide line for the tip. This is easy to do if you keep your hand holding the nail polish still and just rotate the finger you’re painting. You want to follow the natural white part of your nail. I filled it in with black polish. Then I went back with 2 coats of a green striper for the line underneath. Again, this is easy to do if you keep the hand holding the nail polish still and just rotate the finger you’re painting. I finished up with a glitter top coat. I LOVE this manicure! I hope you enjoy!
I know we’re not totally into fall yet, but the temperature is starting to drop and we’re all thinking about fall clothes. At least I am. haha! Fall is personally my favorite time of the year. I love being able to wear a hoodie and not being too hot. It’s just more comfortable. The only thing I don’t like is having to put all the windows back on my Jeep Wrangler. I can trade that for the nice weather though!
Anyway. Here are a few fall inspired tutorials.
First we have Panacea81 with a pumpkin spice latte inspired look. I love pumpkin anything, so this is great for me!
Here is an Autumn/Fall look by Pixi2woo. This look is very simple and very fresh.
Lastly, I have a nail tutorial. I know I did nails last week, but this one is soooo cute for fall! It’s by TotallyCoolNails and its perfect for fall!
I for one am a colorful person. As much as I love the colors of fall, I’m sure I’ll still wear bright colored makeup. I hope you enjoy these videos and that they’re helpful. Continue to send me your ideas and let me know what you want to see! I have a nail look and two eye shadow looks from the weekend to share sometime soon. Happy hump day everyone!
I am going to have to keep this post pretty short. After working all day, I went to the gym for an hour, then came home and gave all three of my cats baths, cleaned the house a little bit, then took a shower myself. I am simply beat and have a pita pizza cooking. Speaking of food, I did an “Eat This Not That” post not too long ago with one of the recipes I use to work towards weight loss. As of today, I’ve lost 32 pounds and am still working it off. If that was a post that you found interesting, let me know and I’ll do more!
I’ll start off with e.l.f. as usual. When you spend $20 or more, they will send you a $21 free gift. The last time they ran a mystery gift, I ended up with a new palette and a ton of other stuff. It was totally worth it. If you’re not interested in that, you can get free shipping when you spend $25.
If you act fast, you can get an 88 matte palette from BH Cosmetics for $9. Their site says 9am to 9pm, so I’m assuming that means 9pm tonight. They are also running 35-40% off select products in honor of fashion week.
Also in honor of fashion and for 24 hours, Coastal Scents has their 252 Ultimate Palette on sale for $19.95. They are also offering free shipping on orders over $50. If you don’t know what it means when I say “88 palette” or “252 palette”, its how many colors you get. So with Coastal Scents, for $19.95 you get 252 eye shadows colors. That is a ton of eye shadow.
I don’t have much left, but make sure you check out Ulta, Sephora and Sally Beauty for sales. Urban Decay came out with some new palettes and Ulta has them. They’re not necessarily on sale, but they’re a good price to begin with.
I’m sorry this post is so short, but I am starving and ready to relax. I will be back soon with some weekend looks. I have a wedding to go to this weekend, so I’ll be doing something fun for makeup. As usual, if you have any ideas please let me know! I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope it was helpful! Happy shopping!
I personally love a French tip on my nails. I think it looks classy and elegant and works for any occasion. I have gotten myself pretty good at doing a French tip myself. Some things that help are scotch tape, French tip guide stickers and using a striper to create the tip before filling it in. So without further adieu, here are some tutorials for some cute French tips! Hope you enjoy!
The first video is a green tip by Love4Nails. She creates the cutest nail looks on her channel!
Here is a super cute manicure for back to school! It’s by CutePolish and she paints apples to create a really cute tip! It’s not necessarily a French tip, but its a tip and its perfect for school. She has a ton of cute looks on her channel as well.
Here is IHaveACupcake with a really cute blue glitzy French tip. I LOVE this look but I’m a sucker for rhinestones.
So there you have. Some really cute French tip ideas. I hope you enjoy these! Please let me know if you try them or if you have any ideas!
Ok loves. Once again I forgot Watch it Wednesday. :( BUT I set alarms in my phone to remind me to do Watch it Wednesday and Thrifty Thursday at 6:30 each week. I should be home by then. I promise I will do them both when I get home this evening. I took a picture to prove I set alarms. Haha!
In the meantime, I have an eye shadow look for you. I actually got up and did my makeup today. I used my Aqua Smoothers foundation this time because I needed a little more coverage. A moon erupted on my chin last night! I also used e.l.f. concealer to cover blemishes. For eye shadow bases I used Urban Decay primer and my NYX jumbo pencil in milk. All the eye shadow colors are from my BH 88 palette. I used yellow on the inner third and purple on the outer 2/3. You have to be careful with the yellow because the other colors can take it over. I went into the crease with a darker purple and blended that up with a light silver. On the brow bone I used a cream color. In the inner corner I used white. Along the bottom lash-line I smudged the same dark purple and used a tiny bit of yellow to brighten up the inner eye area. I finished with my Avon black eye liner and falsies mascara. On my cheeks I just have some PF highlighter.
I hope you enjoy this look and I promise I will have Watch it Wednesday and Thrifty Thursday up tonight! Please keep sending me ideas too! Have a great Thursday!
I have 2 looks for you from this weekend.
For the first one, I used my BH 88 original palette. I used my Mary Kay mineral foundation because I felt like my face needed a break. I started with Urban Decay primer, then used my NYX jumbo pencil in milk as a base. Its pretty natural on the top lid. I just used some browns and golds. On the bottom lashline, I used my Sephora pencil. It’s pretty similar to the NYX pencils. I only have one and it’s a teal color. So I covered that with a teal eye shadow. I finished up with falsies mascara and Avon black eye liner.
For the second look, I also used my Mary Kay mineral foundation. Urban Decay primer and NYX pencil in milk are the bases. I used my Urban Decay Book of Shadows palette for the eyes. It’s more purple than the pictures show. I used dark and light purples in the crease and a gold color on the lids. I finished up with my falsies mascara and Avon eye liner.
I hope you enjoy these looks! I’ll have Watch it Wednesday up this evening. Have a wonderful Wednesday!!
